The Research on How Much the Characteristics of Mothers Influence Their junior High School Students Using of Dental clinics

Abstract
To investigate the characteristics of mothers which influence their junior high school students¢¥ s using of dental clinics, I made a survey through questionnaire on 1020 pairs of mothers and their junior high school students living in Iksan and Kunsan, North Cholla Province. I came to a conclusion as follows:
1. The more mothers use a dental clinic and the higher education they had, the more often their junior high school students tend to use dental clinics. The junior high school students who have a large family tend not to use dental clinics very often.
2. The characteristics of mothers which influence the number of times their children use dental clinics for check up are as follows: mothers dental treatment for preventive purpose, education background, the number of times of using dental clinics for check up, frequency of tooth brushing, and family income. Among these, the number of times mothers use greatest influence.
3. The number of times of the junior high school students and their mothers¢¥ using dental clinics for preventive purpose is in direct ratio to each other. The more mothers took time in sleeping and in doing chores at home, the less often junior high school students use dental clinics for preventive purpose. In case of mothers who live separately with their mothers or mothers in law, junior high school students tend not to use dental clinics for preventive purpose very often. There was a significant connection between the junior high school students using of dental clinics and the characteristics of mothers. Therefore, I think it necessary to develop the programs for dental hygiene to have mothers and their children attended together in order to improve oral health of junior high school students.
